Raised on the tropical islands of Trinidad and Tobago, Anthony had the early fortune of living across the street from a bakery as a child, which helped develop his pastry passion from a young age.

He would much later receive a Bachelor of Technology degree in Hospitality Management from New York City College of Technology, as a Confectionery Arts Major. Through City Tech, Anthony was introduced to the Annual Salon of Culinary Arts and the U.S Pastry Championship.

Winning awards since his first competition, Anthony holds eight gold and five silver medals to date.

His experience abroad at the Hotel de France was a key factor in Smith obtaining his position as Pastry Chef of the Cosmopolitan Club. Now, twelve year later, Smith is the Executive Pastry Chef for the members only club on Manhattan's Upper East Side. He also teaches Baking and Pastry Arts to Hospitality students at his alma mater.

In 2007, Smith was awarded the Silver Medal from Granata Catering, for Second Prize in Pastry Presentation at the The 139th Annual Salon of Culinary Art.

Four months later, in 2008, he finished second place at the 19th Annual U.S. Pastry competition.
